The Hustle (M): Another in the line of female remakes (eg Ghostbusters) this comedy is a remake of the 1988 comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (with Michael Caine and Steve Martin), itself a remake of the 1964 film Bedtime Story (with Marlon Brando and David Niven). Two con artists - the high-class Josephine (Anne Hathaway) and the low-class Lonnie (Rebel Wilson) team up to get revenge on the men who wronged them. It's directed by Welsh comedian Chris Addison (who directed many episodes of Veep).

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu (PG): I thought (hoped?) the Pokemon fad had run its course, but apparently not. Tim Goodman (Justice Smith, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), a former Pokémon Trainer, is trying to find his father, who disappeared after an accident. He teams up with a talking Pikachu (voiced by wisecracking Ryan Reynolds), a would-be detective once owned by his father, to investigate. It's directed by Rob Letterman (Monsters vs Aliens).
Poms (PG): No, it's not a movie about the English. It's an American comedy squarely aimed at an older, female demographic. Martha (Diane Keaton) moves into a retirement community and starts a cheerleading squad with her fellow residents. Also stars Australia's Jacki Weaver, Pam Grier and Rhea Pearlman. Shouldn't that title be pom-poms, or pom-pons? It's directed by Zars Hayes, whose work to date has mostly been making documentaries.
