A man armed with a gun has threatened staff and stolen cash from the Spar Supermarket on Barraclough Crescent in Monash.

Police say the man entered the loading dock area of the supermarket about 5.45pm on Monday and allegedly pointed a gun at the store's supervisor before demanding to be taken to the safe.
The man allegedly forced the employee into the office and gained access to the safe, leaving with cash and fleeing the area.
Police were called to the supermarket a short time later and established a crime scene. Forensic officers examined the premises and viewed CCTV footage.
The police dog unit located a scent of the man in the green belt area between Cockcroft Avenue and Wheadon Street. The offender is described as being around 6 feet tall and weighing around 80-85kg.
Police ask anyone who may have been in the area of the Spar supermarket at the time to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
