Pianists celebrate wartime composers

Many composers have been affected by war. Some were killed in battle, others by disease, and still others suffered physical or emotional wounds. The Pianist, the fourth concert in the 2014 Canberra International Music Festival, is in keeping with the war theme of this year's festival. It is a showcase of wartime piano works - some by composers who are famous, others rescued from obscurity through the efforts of festival director Christopher Latham.
