Those braving the early chills have been rewarded, including Geoffrey Howe of Gilmore, who captured a monochromatic scene of children playing at the Arboretum.
‘‘The children were from a local school out for an early morning excursion. [The] fog was almost too thick, but then I saw this almost silhouette shot.’’
Fran Tapia of Kingston has also used the fog as a background to a black swan on the edge of the lake at Bowen Park in a photo titled ‘‘Disappearing Act’’, while Allan Sharp of Kambah made the most of a rainy day, capturing reflections in slick footpaths.
