Centre Brenko Lee showcased all his class with a stunning two-try haul to help Canberra Raiders under 20s breakthrough for their first win in the National Youth Competition this season.
Lee and Tahakilu Pangai both scored doubles as the Raiders beat the Gold Coast Titans 38-24 at Skilled Park.
A Queensland under 16s and 18s representative, Lee gave the Raiders the perfect start when he crossed after just three minutes.
The Titans hit back to level the scores, but tries to Anthony Milford and Mitch Cornish took the Raiders out to a 10-point lead. Defensive errors then cost the Raiders dearly and they trailed 18-16 at the break, only to hit the front straight after the interval through Ricky Garard.
The interchange forward was the beneficiary of a superb offload from Pangai, who held off two defenders to flick out the ball close to the try-line.
Five-eighth Jordon Worboys scored to extend the lead, but the Titans crossed through Jahrome Hughes to get back in the contest.
Lee's second on the hour mark re-established the Raiders' 10-point margin as they aimed to keep the Titans at bay in the stifling conditions.
They armed up defensively in the final 20 minutes, with Pangai crashing his way over for his second to seal the two competition points.
