Tamim Jamaal Nozhat, 24, pleaded guilty in March to one count of importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug.
It was the largest ever bust of drugs headed for the ACT.
Nozhat contended he was unaware of the drugs but admitted he was reckless to the knowledge of their existence.
The prosecutors pointed to the substantial operation behind importing the drugs, including Nozhat securing a premises for the drugs to be sent, as willful blindness.
The defence produced several documents depicting Nozhat as an exemplary prisoner who had taken it upon himself to support other inmates.
He will be sentenced in coming days.
