Two men targeted two different taxis waiting in car parks in Red Hill and Weston on September 9.
Police issued images of the two men responsible for the robberies yesterday.
The first incident occurred while a driver was waiting in a car park along Cygnet Crescent in Red Hill about 4.30am, counting his night's takings.
Two men walked up to the taxi, and police said one man punched the driver in the head.
The other offender opened the taxi's passenger door and took a mobile phone and a wallet.
The next incident, which police believe involved the same two men, occurred 90 minutes later, while a taxi driver was parked in Cooleman Court in Weston.
The driver was threatened and robbed of his mobile phone and wallet. Police believe one of the men was holding a tyre iron.
The two men were seen running towards Namatjira Drive from Parkinson Street.
The incidents had sparked an angry response from the Transport Workers Union earlier this month, who said they were deeply disturbed by the attacks. TWU spokesman Klaus Pinkas said the taxi industry was plagued by similar incidents, and that criminals often saw drivers as soft targets.
But Woden Police Station's Sergeant Steve Hogarth said taxi drivers were not a vulnerable group.
''Not any more than any other industry, including ourselves, that works in the early hours of the morning,'' Sergeant Hogarth said.
''ACT taxi drivers don't carry very much cash with them at all ... in fact, I think it's less than $50 at any given time, so it's not worthwhile.''
Police issued the images of the offenders yesterday, hoping members of the public could help to identify the men.
''If someone knows these people, or are able to identify them, or even suspect that they might know these people, give us a ring on the Crime Stoppers number,'' Sergeant Hogarth said.
In another incident, on Monday night - which police are treating as unrelated - the Domino's Pizza outlet at Erindale was robbed by two men armed with knives. They entered the store about 9.45pm, both wearing bandannas over their faces. Cash was taken from the store but the two staff members working were not hurt. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800333000 or via the website.
