A Belconnen primary school was cordoned off this morning as the bomb response team dealt with a suspicious package.

ACT Policing was notified of a suspicious package on the grounds of Macquarie Primary School, in Bennelong Crescent at 8am.
ACT Policing general duties members cordoned the area and called in the Specialist Response and Security Bomb Response Team.
The package was moved by the Bomb Response robot to the oval, which police cordoned off.
The package was deemed safe after police x-rayed it.
Part of the school was closed off for a short time, but school activities returned to normal about 10.15am.
