Police are seeking the extradition of a man from Wilcannia, in far western New South Wales, over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in a north Canberra home last month.

Police will allege the 44-year-old man from Wilcannia sexually assaulted the woman on September 29, before leaving Canberra to travel to Wilcannia where he was arrested on Tuesday by NSW Police.
The alleged offender will face the Wilcannia local court this morning, where extradition will be sought for the man to face charges in the ACT.
If extradition is granted he is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday.
