The fight began outside ICBM nightclub on Northbourne Avenue before 2.20am on Sunday.
A 26-year-old Aranda man was left with serious injuries to his face and the back of his head. He was scheduled to undergo surgery at the Canberra Hospital yesterday.
The exact circumstances of the fight remain unclear but police say they are seeking to interview bouncers over the incident.
Another fight also occurred on Bunda Street at the weekend. Intensive-care paramedics were called to the scene on Sunday morning, and The Canberra Times received unconfirmed reports that a man had suffered a stab wound in the scuffle. Police said they were aware of the Bunda Street fight but were no longer conducting an investigation into the incident.
The ACT Ambulance Service said it could not confirm or deny that a man had been treated for a stab wound on Saturday night.
Those incidents follow a violent brawl outside the Uni Pub last weekend.
Police are urging witnesses to either of the assaults to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800333000, or via the Crime Stoppers website.
