Harley Dean Stott, Christopher James Rowland, Lochlan Hinder, William John Callan and Benjamin Thomas Joyce are accused of plotting the heist at the Burns Club.
But they were arrested at the scene last night after a police surveillance operation, the ACT Magistrates Court heard this afternoon.
All five teens, who are aged either 18 or 19, have been charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
Police allege Hinder, Callan and Joyce were armed with knives and a hatchet when arrested at the doors of the club.
And the court heard the trio was also allegedly wearing masks, gloves and overalls.
Officers found Stott and Rowland attempting to leave the area in a car, which the prosecution alleges was the intended getaway vehicle.
Of the quintet - none of whom had legal representation today - only Stott and Rowland applied for bail.
Magistrate Beth Campbell refused their applications, citing fears about them reoffending or absconding.
They are due back in court later this month, while their three co-accused are expected to seek bail on Monday.
