A man was dragged from his car and beaten during an early morning assault at the Erindale shops on Saturday.

ACT Policing said the 30-year-old victim was sitting in his car outside the Lucky Price Asian grocery in Garside Street, Wanniassa, when he was approached by an unknown man about 5.30am.
The man opened the door of the victim's car and dragged him outside, where he began to punch the victim about the head and body before hitting him in the head with an object, believed to be a stick or baseball bat.

The victim eventually managed to get into his car and drove to Canberra Hospital for treatment.
The offender has been described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 183cm tall with a medium build. He has brown hair and was wearing a black baseball cap.
