"The legendary TV talk-show host regrets this change of plans and apologises for any inconvenience this may cause," the joint statement from the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, Mellen Event and Bluehawk Presents read.
Parkinson was set to host an evening in Kings Park accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra.
While the musicians were due to present soundtracks from classic movies such as Gone With The Wind and Casablanca Parkinson was to accompany the melodies by providing antidotes from his 48 years in the entertainment industry.
The award-winning presenter's talk show Parkinson which began filming in 1971 set the trend for the relaxed talk-show styles seen today.
Some of his most memorable guests have included film director Orson Welles and Richard Burton, whose segment had to be recorded in the afternoon for fears he would be unable to take part in a live evening interview after enjoying the spoils of a fully stocked Green Room fridge.
Parkinson, who has also interviewed Marlon Brando, Woody Allen, Muhammad Ali and Tony Blair during his time at Number 10 Downing Street, will not be rescheduling his Perth appearance.
All tickets for the February 25 will be refunded.
