The teen, who cannot be identified, already faced charges for allegedly murdering 82-year-old Richard John Cater and allegedly assaulting two others.
He has pleaded not guilty to those charges.
He was further charged on Monday with possessing LSD, MDMA, cannabis and knuckle dusters and is yet to enter pleas.
The teen allegedly attacked Mr Cater and the others in the driveway of Mr Cater's Palmerston home on March 15.
After the alleged attack, three victims were transported to hospital, where Mr Cater later died.
Tributes and condolences flooded in online after news of Mr Cater's death spread.
"Dick", as he was known, was remembered as a giant of the water skiing community.
An online obituary said Mr Cater was a husband, father, grandfather to 11 and had one great-grandchild and was a friend to many.
Many remembered Mr Cater's "colourful character" and "larger than life personality".
"I was lucky to have worked for and with Dick and, for over 50 years, valued him as a friend, mentor and role model, who always displayed good humour and values," one tribute read.
"The world has lost a fine human being, and we will miss him greatly."
The teen's defence lawyer, James Maher, said he received the brief of evidence to the murder and assault charges last week and sought an adjournment to prepare.
The matter was adjourned until July and the teen remains in custody.
