Riverina were found guilty of breaching the competition regulations relating to eligible players for their round-11 win over Belconnen.

The Blue Devils lodged an appeal to Capital Football after it came to their attention Riverina had fielded unregistered players.

The disciplinary committee fined the club for misconduct and overturned the result to a forfeit in favour of Belconnen, who now leapfrog Canberra FC to fourth position.

Clubs were informed of the points reallocation on Friday, just two days before Canberra's must-win clash with Gungahlin United.

The Blue Devils will be sweating on a loss for Canberra after being given a near-second chance for a finals berth.

Co-coach Lou Gaspari said Belconnen are ready to move on and give the top-four 'a good shake' should they make the finals series.

"It's a great opportunity if the results go our way and Gungahlin get a draw out of Canberra FC," Gaspari said.

"If we get into the top-four then we're going to give it a good shake and have a crack at the grand final.

"It's all about self belief and attitude, and we're motivated to get there. We're keeping our level heads because there's still another game to go. If Canberra win over Gungahlin then they deserve to be in the top-four."

Canberra will have their last chance to secure the fourth finals spot when they host Gungahlin at Deakin Stadium on Sunday.

But Canberra coach Luka Ujdur isn't feeling any extra-pressure and said his players are in a good frame of mind.

"I'm trying to deal with the things we can control," Ujdur said.

"[In previous years] Woden-Weston and Tigers played players they shouldn't have. Other teams didn't get the points but Capital Football took away points from them. There's a bit of inconsistency there but it is what it is and I can't control that..

"We had to win regardless but now if we don't, then we won't make the top-four. When we have our backs against the wall, the players respond and I think they'll do that [on Sunday]."

Canberra have had two weeks to prepare for the do-or-die match while Gungahlin will be riding the momentum of a five-match winning streak.

The Gunners won their last encounter with a clinical 5-0 performance, but Ujdur believes Canberra will be tough to beat out front.

"It was one of those games where nothing went right for us. But I guarantee, that isn't going to happen [on Sunday]," Ujdur said.

"If we take our chances in front of goal then we're going to be very hard to beat and any team is going to find it hard to break us down. We've been in some good form, which we know, so we just have to build off that."

The minor premiership will be decided at O'Connor Enclosed for the second-straight year when ladder-leading Canberra Olympic host Tigers FC on Sunday.

Cooma must win to overcome the two-point gap and be crowned premiers, but it'll be a tough feat given Olympic have won their last six matches.

Meanwhile Monaro Panthers ended their season with a clinical 3-1 win over Woden-Weston on Saturday.
