You'd be forgiven for thinking a 19-year-old would struggle to keep a seasoned veteran out of the Queanbeyan Blues first grade side. But that's exactly what's happened.

Following a string of stunning performances Matthew Parsons was good enough to keep veteran player and former Raider Joel Monaghan out of the side.
Parsons will find himself in the daunting cauldron of grand final footy - now the young fullback hasn't looked back.
He scored 13 tries en route to a first grade call-up and he has since added six more in the top competition.
His try scoring feats were enough to win the under 19's highest try scorer, despite only playing nine games.
Parsons inclusion in the first grade team took him by surprise.
"It was a shock to get the call-up, I was told to just play my own game and I'd be fine," said Parsons.
"Even though it's so much quicker I was able to slip straight in, since then I've been playing really well."
The Blues take on the Goulburn Bulldogs in the Canberra Raiders Cup grand final at Seiffert Oval on Sunday.
Ex-Canberra Raider and now Blues player-coach Terry Campese has lauded Parsons' performances this season.
Campese says the 19-year-old fullback justified his selection over the former Canberra Raider.
"We signed [Joel Monaghan] and we thought he'd be there but he's kept him out and definitely done a great job," Campese said. "He's a great attacking player, only very young but he's sort of a David Peachey-like player. A great mover with very good balance so he's really done well for the boys."
Parsons added: "There are some nerves there definitely, but we've had a strong week of training and we'll just focus on our own game," Parsons said.
"Winning the grand final would be unreal, I've had such a good year and that would really cap it off."
