Normally it's Joey Leilua and Jordan Rapana - "Leipana" for short - and the Canberra Raiders' fabled right edge that gets all the attacking plaudits, but it's the left-wing of the Green Machine that's become their most potent.
But given South Sydney's recent defensive woes on both flanks, there could be chances for each edge in the sold-out preliminary final at Canberra Stadium on Friday.
This season the Raiders have scored 43 tries down their left edge, which will be patrolled by co-captain Jarrod Croker, Nick Cotric, Jack Wighton and Elliott Whitehead.
That's 11 more than the centre-wing duo of Joey Leilua and Jordan Rapana, along with Aidan Sezer and John Bateman, have managed this season.
Croker said there were a couple of factors at play - the emergence of Wighton at five-eighth and injuries leading to an unsettled right edge.
"To their defence, Joey's been out for a long time, Rapa's had games off - they've had a few blokes playing all over the shop out there," Croker said.
"It's just having Jacko as that extra runner and that running five-eighth it's just added another dimension to that left edge.
"It's a bit of a rap for Jacko, being first time in the halves and he's controlling that edge really well."
Cotric has spent time on both sides of the field, with Bailey Simonsson also playing on the left wing.
He said having the brilliance of Leipana to train against helped them hone their skills.
"It helps us in [defence] and in attack because they're such talented players," Cotric said.
"We take it seriously and then they get a bit angry and [there's] a bit of banter.
"[Leilua] and 'Rapa' are always giving us weird looks and smiles.
"We're always competitive at training so if we get one on them we're cheering and yeehaaing and going off at them."
The Rabbitohs have had trouble defending out wide during the finals.
Dane Gagai missed seven tackles at left centre in their win over Manly, while halfback Adam Reynolds missed five on the right.
With Souths centre James Roberts (thumb) ruled out, Campbell Graham moves to centre and Corey Allan comes onto the wing.
Croker said they wouldn't target either side.
"No not really. We'll worry about us. You're not going to go to one edge and keep the ball away from BJ and Rapa are you," he said.
"We'll worry about us and play our game. We're prepared to do what we need to do and it won't be too much about Souths."
Leilua couldn't resist a cheeky crack back.
"Finally. Finally they're doing their job," he joked.
"They've been awesome. We've had a lot of injuries on the right side to be honest. Rapa was out, I was out, Johnny [Bateman] was out.
"We've had young kids filling in those spots and that right edge hasn't really found a combination until recently.
"We just have to make sure we combine again for two more games."
