It was an issue Basketball Australia's head of women's basketball Lauren Jackson couldn't have foreseen - and it's a problem she is glad they had.
Jackson wrote on the WNBL website round one served as the soft launch for the league's streaming service, with Kayo Sports "taking it on after week two" to assist in the delivery.
The Capitals' clash with the Townsville Fire at the National Convention Centre on Sunday will be accessible on the league and club websites.
"The demand has been there for people to be able to watch it, they say they want to watch it, the services just haven't been there," Griffin said.
"It's great that's the case now, so people can watch it when they want to. It's great for me personally, to know I can tap into any game and watch it live, it's awesome.
"I try to be a student of the game and try to learn as much as I can. When you start thinking you've learnt everything there is to learn, that's when it's time to give it up.
MORE CAPITALS NEWS
"I know there is a lot more I can learn from players and coaches in this league, watching them is a great way to do it. I try to be a student of the game."
The Capitals are set to welcome Marianna Tolo back on restricted minutes for the Fire clash with coach Paul Goriss hoping to get about 20 minutes out of the star centre.
But he maintains there will be no expectation on Tolo to put up huge numbers in her return to the court from a foot infection stemming from surgery which cruelled her pre-season.
Though she will have one big role to play for the Capitals when they host a "smokey for the top four".
Townsville is preparing to welcome Abby Bishop back into the fold after a concussion kept her sidelined on the opening weekend with the Capitals preparing for the Opal to play.
Bishop will be a major inclusion for a side that has flown under the radar and assembled a roster boasting plenty of international experience.
"Tolo, that's one way we can combat her," Goriss said.
"She's a great player, Abby Bishop has been an MVP in the league and she had a great tournament when we were over in India with the Opals.
"She is a world class player, so you've just got to limit the touches she can get and the impact on the game.
"She is a former MVP, you bring one of those back into your side and it definitely enhances that group."
The Capitals are still waiting with bated breath as Mikaela Ruef's citizenship application rests in the hands of Australian and United States immigration officials.
