Just as Canberra's favourite cricketing son Brad Haddin asked Prime Minister Scott Morrison about the importance of the Prime Minister's XI fixture, Siddle struck.
Not that the 3106 in the crowd for their clash with Sri Lanka at Manuka Oval on Thursday seemed to mind.
Because they still got to see Morrison in action soon after when he charged onto the paddock carrying the drinks following a Daniel Fallins wicket.
This time he opted for spikes having gone barefoot when he ran water out for the Prime Minister's XIII rugby league team in Fiji.
"It's great to see the local Canberra crowd ... oh there you go, that's a wicket," Morrison said during a stint on Fox Cricket's commentary team.
"They like their cricket here in Canberra. They'll have this and the Twenty20 international against Pakistan. [This game is] also about the relationship between the two countries.

"Canberrans love their cricket."
The national men's side is set to host Pakistan in a Twenty20 international on November 5 before the women's side takes centre stage with a tri-series and Twenty20 World Cup games.
It means the political power broker will have to head up the highway to catch the longest format.
"I'll get to the Sydney Test with 'Ooh Aah' Glenn McGrath, another great player that used to play for Sutherland," Morrison said.
"We really enjoy supporting that event. What the McGrath Foundation does is just absolutely [fantastic].
"Glenn still lives down in the shire of course. And it's good to see Steve Smith, this is becoming a Sutherland commentary, it's great to see him back.
"But it's a bit disappointing, I found out in rugby league he actually barracks for the Roosters."
