ACT firefighters have extinguished a bushfire near Bendora Dam in the Namadgi National Park.

An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokeswoman said the fire, which started about 11.40am Monday, was extinguished by 4.25pm Tuesday.
The fire burnt in a one hectare area in a remote part of the national park on Bendora Road between Bulls Head picnic area and Bendora Dam.

By 4:30pm it had grown to 1.5 hectares in size but had been contained by crews.
The spokeswoman said no properties were under threat.
Rural Fire Service, ACT Parks and Conservation and ACT Fire and Rescue crews were at the scene.
People in the nearby area were warned they may be affected by smoke.
