1. The Highball Express
Say adios to 2019 and hola to a new decade in true fiesta fashion. Drinks will be flowing at Highball Express' New Year's Eve Carnivale until 3am, Peggy the punch trolley will be making an appearance and hot Cuban street food will be one hand. There will also be live music from Mi Terra from 10pm, plus a floorshow by Kokoloco Dance Studio. 4pm-3am. Pre-sale tickets are $20 from highballexpress.com.au and include a glass of Moet on arrival. You can also pre-book a VIP package which includes food, bubbles and a VIP booth.
2. Civic Square
See 2019 go out with a bang from Civic Square where it will be an evening of music and food, but without the usual firework display due to the total fire ban across the ACT. There will be musical performers on the main stage in Civic Square, including Asta and The Baker Boys, a number of roving performers, as well as numerous food and drink vans. 6pm-1am.
3. Smith's Alternative
Smith's Alternative's Crappy New Years' Ball promises to be unlike any other party in town. With entertainment taken care of Crap Music Rave Party, ring in the new year with the sounds of some of the trashiest pop music including music from Vanessa Amorosi, All Saints, the theme song from The Love Boat, Bob The Builder cover songs and The Wiggles. 8pm-3am. 4. Mooseheads
Sure, there's always a chance that New Year's Eve will see you getmessy on the dancefloor, but does it really matter if the dancefloor has free money flying above it? When the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve Mr Moose will push the button on two cash cannons, releasing $2000 over the dancefloor and another $1000 around the bar. There will also be another $1000 dropped over the dancefloor at 1am. 9pm-5am.
5. 88mph
Welcome 2020 by heading back to the 1980s. Dance the night away to classic 80s tracks, and toast to the new year with colourful cocktails. Or, you could party like a rockstar with the VIP package which includes a private karaoke room, hot pizzas and drinks, as well as priority entry before 10pm. To book go to 88mph.bar. 4pm-4am.
6. Molly

Welcome the return of the roaring 20s by stepping back into the 1920s. Brass Knuckle Brass Band will be at Molly get your toes tapping past midnight and partygoers will receive a World's Fastest Ramos cocktail. Tickets are $35 from molly.bar. VIP packages will be on offer for all booth bookings. 4pm-2am.
7. The Howling Moon
Ring in the New Year under the stars at The Howling Moon. This soiree has two packages on offer. The $150 Twinkle package offers a welcome cocktail, feasting tables, canapes, live music and a glass of champagne at midnight. For groups of 10 or more there is the Glow package for $250 each. This includes VIP lounge seating, table services, a four-hour beverage package, a feasting table, canapes, a dessert station and bottles of champagne at midnight. 7pm-1am. Tickets from Eventbrite.
Calling all space divas, aliens, disco astronauts and starboys - this New Years party is for you. The Old Canberra Inn is hosting a Space Disco to welcome 2020. Costumes are encouraged and there will be best dressed prizes as well as intergalactic cocktails. 3pm-2am.
