The president of an upstart Canberra bikie gang chapter was found with metal knuckledusters and an extendable baton when he was arrested at the weekend following an attempted break-in, police say.

Darin Keir, 40, appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon.
Prosecutors did not oppose the Nicholls man being granted bail, and his case was set down to return to court on March 10.
Police say officers were called to a Belconnen home about 5.40pm on Saturday following reports an armed man was trying to break in. When they arrived, the man had already left.
Officers allegedly spotted Keir driving a maroon Mitsubishi Outlander a short time later and searched his car, finding a set of metal knuckledusters and a 38-centimetre extendable baton.
Police say Keir is the Canberra chapter president of the Satudarah outlaw motorcycle gang.
ACT Policing revealed in January last year that the Satudarah, one of Europe's most notorious bikie gangs, had set up a local chapter.
The outfit has endured several setbacks since, with its first two alleged Canberra presidents locked up within two weeks of each other in early 2019.
