February 29 in a leap year is traditionally when a woman can propose to a man. But the National Portrait Gallery hopes everyone gets in on the action in a new competition tying in with the Love Stories exhibition, which opens on June 20. But you need to get your love story in by Sunday.

The gallery wants people to share their love stories, with the "most compelling storyteller" given the chance to pop the big question to their significant other on Saturday, January 29, in the gallery building, with a pile of prizes to boot.
The winner will receive a private highlights tour at the gallery, as well as enjoying a portrait session with a professional photographer before a champagne breakfast onsite at Portrait cafe. They will also enjoy a night's accommodation at Midnight Hotel, Autograph Collection in Braddon plus tickets to the opening night of Love Stories, which features historic and contemporary portraits from London's National Portrait Gallery.
Email your love story as a 100 -word story or a one-minute video to lovestories@npg.gov.au by 11.59 pm on Sunday, February 23.
