But Cricket ACT's newly-crowned premier cricketer of the year has the numbers to show why he claimed 29 points en route to his third medal, following 2016-17 and 2013-14.
The Tuggeranong skipper claimed 54 wickets across all three formats at an average of 15.91, while posting 473 runs at 29.56 with a high score of 121.
Devoy joins Eastlake and Far South Coast star Janet King as Cricket ACT's major award winners this season, with the latter claiming the SJ Moore Medal as the best female grade player.
King captained Far South Coast in the Glenda Hall Shield with an average of 54, before linking up with Eastlake for their triumphant Lynne O'Meara Cup campaign in which she averaged 46.83.

The pair were recognised alongside a raft of other award winners on social media after COVID-19 restrictions forced Cricket ACT to cancel its awards evening this season.
"All cricketers, regardless of where they play, are after the same thing. You're after team success, and unfortunately we couldn't get over the line this year," Devoy said.
"But to receive an individual honour like this is quite nice. It's just a reflection of trying to put in a lot of hard work. My teammates would say it's an outcome of bowling myself to death every week and they're probably not too far wrong there.
"I'd like to think I work quite hard on the skill component of my game and again, it's not something you seek out but it's nice to be rewarded in that way.
"The highlights for me this season were watching our young guys come through. We had a number of guys set pre-season goals.
"Ollie Anable, for him it was as simple as getting through a whole season as a young fast bowler and he was able to achieve that. Tom Vane-Tempest had an excellent season, it has been really pleasing to watch his game grow.
"A number of our players have had seasons like that this year."
Western District claimed the club championship to cap off a stellar season in which they won premierships in all five men's grades to bring their tally to 11 flags from a possible 13 across all three formats.
Carly Leeson [Northern Frenzy] won the Female Twenty20 Bash player of the tournament, while Queanbeyan's Vele Dukoski took out the equivalent gong in the ACT Twenty20 Cup. Nic Broes was the Elite 19s player of the series.
