The Weston skatepark is located behind the local oval, in an area bordered by Streeton Drive, Namatjira Drive and Hilder St. Access to the skatepark is from Dillon Close, off Namatjira Drive.
The Weston Creek area had 14 recorded assaults from April to June this year.
The most recent murder to occur in the area was that of 48-year-old Bobby Stuart Allan, who died of a cardiac arrest after being viciously beaten with a metal baseball bat in 2017 at his home in nearby Rivett.
The offenders had gone to the victim's home to buy drugs. They beat Mr Allan, ransacked his house and used his stolen credit cards to buy alcohol. Three men were arrested and sentenced over that incident.
There hasn't been a stabbing in the area since March 2017 when a 46-year-man was stabbed during an argument at the Independent Living Centre, in Parkinson Street, Weston. The victim staggered across the car park to nearby Cooleman Court to receive assistance.
There was an assault on a jogger in the area around 11 months ago.
The Weston skatepark has security lights, but these are programmed to turn off automatically at 10pm.
