The Yass Magpies five-eighth recruit from New Zealand has finally been able to pull on the Magpies black and white in the Canberra Raiders Cup first grade.
Magpies assistant coach Josh Hardy said that the team had tried to bring Limoni over for last season, but it didn't go to plan.
"Nofoaiga came over last year, but it was a Covid interrupted season, and we didn't end up playing," Hardy said.
"So he returned home to New Zealand then came back in January this year. But he fits in really well. The boys love having him around."
Limoni spent the 2020 season with his former club, the Mangere East Hawks. The opportunity to get more game time under his belt and not take a year off was the easy option to take.
That commitment to his game showed its worth in the second game of the Yass Magpies' season, where Limoni ended the match with two points in the best and fairest as second-best on the ground.
Still, the 2021 season has proved challenging for the Yass Magpies with two wins from eight matches, including a draw against the West Belconnen Warriors.
Limoni understands that it takes time to find the correct pieces to their puzzle.
"There is a lot to work on, but we are still moving players around in the paddock and into what position they should be playing," he said.
"We're slowly gelling, and hopefully, we'll get better results."
Yass will take on the Queanbeyan Kangaroos on Saturday at Seears Workwear Oval in Queanbeyan from 3pm. In Saturday's other match, Woden Valley Rams host Queanbeyan Blues at Phillip Oval from 3pm.
On Sunday, West Belconnen Warriors face Belconnen United Sharks at Raiders Belconnen, while Goulburn City Bulldogs will tackle Tuggeranong Bushrangers at Workers Arena. Both games kick off at 3pm.
