The announcement comes after Golf NSW outlined a return to tournaments starting with the NSW Country Championships at Forbes on November 6.
Golf NSW chief executive Stuart Fraser said the date of the Queanbeyan Open was still yet to be finalised due to the recent cancellation of the Australian Open.
Both the men's and women's Australian Opens have been cancelled due to the ongoing restrictions around travel to and within the country.
"We're still rescheduling. There have been some recent announcements with cancellations to the Australian Open," Fraser said.

"The tournament schedule is still pretty fluid, but we're looking at early 2022 for the Queanbeyan Open. January or February ideally."
The regional qualifying circuit is set to start with the Murray Open on November 24 followed by the Dubbo open on November 28.
But due to the NSW lockdown, dates for tournaments have been pushed back causing a logjam of events. The series offers qualification for the NSW Open.
"We've got another four regional qualifiers including Queanbeyan to fit in before the NSW Open at Concord in March 2022," Fraser said.
The Queanbeyan Open will offer a $50,000 purse for professionals. And the top four placegetters (amateur or professional) will be eligible to play in the men's NSW Open.
Last year Canberra's Josh Armstrong qualified for the NSW Open after winning the Murray Open and finished 16th out of 75 contestants. Fraser expects him to return this year and believes he'll be in for a good tournament.
"Josh is one of those players in our high-performance team that turned professional ... and while he is from down that way, his home club in Sydney is Concord and he's had a lot of success playing around that course," Fraser said.
Contestants for Golf NSW competitions need to be fully vaccinated. While social golf resumed in the ACT a few weeks ago, competition returned to the capital this week.
Players and clubs still must ensure they are abiding by the current COVID guidelines. A further easing of restrictions is set to take place on October 29.
