Ricky Wayne Evans, 41, briefly appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court via phone on Monday morning, when he was formally charged with trafficking in cocaine.

Prosecutor Hannah Lee did not oppose his release on conditional bail, which magistrate Robert Cook granted.

Court documents show detectives from ACT Policing's anti-gangs unit, Taskforce Nemesis, raided Mr Evans' house on Saturday afternoon.

The investigators claim to have found and seized multiple bags of a white powder suspected to be cocaine, more than $1700 in cash, prohibited fireworks, a mobile phone and drug paraphernalia.

"The search warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation by ACT Policing's Taskforce Nemesis into outlaw motorcycle gang drug distribution in the ACT and the surrounding region," police said in a media release.

According to police documents tendered in court, Mr Evans admitted during the search of his home to being a heavy cocaine user and to possessing the illicit drug.

He "insisted it was for his own use", but a friend who was present during the raid is said to have told police he had recently bought cocaine from Mr Evans.

Investigators who went through Mr Evans' phone also claim to have "identified drug talk between unknown persons wanting to buy items, suspected to be cocaine, from [him]".

Mr Evans told the court on Monday that he wanted to wait until he had received legal advice before entering a plea. He is scheduled to do that on January 11.

While granting the man bail, Mr Cook noted the 41-year-old's criminal history reflected "an engagement in drug-related activity".
