Nathan James Austin, from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, was granted bail in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday after a night in custody.
Austin was arrested after attending City Police Station on Thursday, and subsequently charged with five counts of sexual intercourse without consent.
ACT Policing said investigators would allege Austin accompanied a woman to a Civic home after attending a nightclub early in the morning of November 26, 2021. Police will allege he raped the woman.
Prosecutor Sam Bargwanna did not oppose Legal Aid lawyer Jeremy Banwell's application for bail and a set of conditions were agreed.
Bail conditions, imposed by Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker, include that Austin must not contact the alleged victim and two other people.
Austin is scheduled to reappear in the ACT Magistrates Court on May 20.
