Police arrested the 39-year-old man, who was a passenger in a car stopped at Canley Heights in Sydney's southwest on Wednesday.
Police say he had five mobile phones and two ledger books containing stolen personal information.
Raptor Squad detectives pounced after receiving several reports of fraudulent electronic transactions across Sydney.
During a search of a Canley Heights home, police seized more than 20 mobile phones and 100 credit and debit cards in various names, 160 gift cards totalling more than $40,000.
They also seized more ledger books containing stolen personal information and luxury jewellery.
The man was charged with fraud, identity and proceed of crime offences and was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Thursday.
