The ACT Emergency Services Agency said ACT Fire & Rescue was called to the incident in Cataract Street about 1pm.
It said the colourbond double garage - which was detached from the house - was well alight when they arrived.
"Fire crews were able to prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings," it said in a statement.
"The garage and contents, which included a motorbike, have been destroyed.
"The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental."
Three trucks and a commander were sent to the scene.
