The free, all ages concert is held on the lawns of Parliament House on January 25 to celebrate Australia Day, and incorporates the Australian of the Year Awards.
As one of the country's most well-known musicians with a career spanning three decades, Kelly will take a break from his national tour promoting his latest album to perform at the concert.
He has won nine ARIA Awards including being inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1997, and his hits include To Her Door, Before Too Long, Dumb Things, plus Treaty with members of Yothu Yindi.
Kelly is the second act announced alongside pop star Jessica Mauboy, with the remainder of the lineup set to be announced in mid-January.
