A Clayfield man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing two people in their Gold Coast home.

About 7am on Wednesday, police were called to an address on Kalabri Court at Worongary, where a 23-year-old woman and 55-year-old man were allegedly stabbed by a 24-year-old man armed with knives.
The 24-year-old, who was known to the man and woman, broke into the house and assaulted them before fleeing, police allege.
Officers found the man at Beechmont a short time later.
The 23-year-old and 55-year-old from Worongary were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital by Queensland Ambulance Service with serious injuries.
A 24-year-old Clayfield man has been charged with one count each of attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault and enter dwelling with intent.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 11.
