Outlawing of Dutch bikie gang 'too little, too late', LNP claims

But Deputy LNP leader Tim Mander dismissed the announcement, saying on Sunday that the identification would only prevent Satudarah members from wearing the club's colours, and would not prevent them from settling in.

Ms D'Ath said naming the club under state legislation would give police the powers to dismantle and disrupt any attempts by Satudarah to establish a clubhouse in Queensland.

The club is known for violence and drug trafficking internationally.

"We know that there are members here in Queensland, through our intelligence and investigations by the police, by Taskforce Maxima, that there’s individuals here in Queensland wanting to establish a chapter," she said.

"Our serious and organised crime laws ensure that our police and the CCC have the powers to not only gather that intelligence but importantly to shut this down before they actually establish themselves.

"We’re not interested in just closing the door on these clubs, we want to dismantle their operations."

Mr Mander said it had been "well known" that Satudarah members had been in Queensland since 2015 and the announcement was "too little, too late".

"All it means is that this group will not be able to wear its colours, it can still establish a clubhouse and it can still collude together to plan criminal activity," he said.

Ms D'Ath said preventing clubs from wearing their colours was an important part of the legislation that reduced outlaw bikie gangs' abilities to intimidate the community.

By restricting their ability to appear in a uniform designed to strike fear in the community, she said the club's power was lessened, and the activation of the legislation would give police sufficient powers to demolish any attempt to establish a Queensland charter.
