This year, Floriade celebrated its 30th birthday with a display of "best of" gardens from the past three decades - and many festival goers agree the 2017 event was a standout.
But with any birthday celebration, it also came with little hiccups.
'It's beautiful, well set out'
Amanda Mobbs, Amaroo
"We've been every year...it's beautiful, well set out. The flowers are still in bloom, even though it is coming to the end of Floriade.
"We'll definitely be coming back next year."
'I didn't think it was going to be quite as spectacular'
Maurice Everson, Gold Coast
"It's much better than my expectation, I didn't think it was going to be quite as spectacular as this.
"It's a great community event and all the rest of it. Just to see all the pretty colours and the flowers, it's brilliant.
"I'll be back in a few years."
'I thought it would be more'
JC Legaspi, Sydney
"I thought it would be more...I was expecting it to be more.
"When you say Floriade, you would have thought there would be other flowers than tulips as well, especially because it's spring time.
"Maybe we'll come back next year with other family members."
'The raised flowers isn't as good'
Natalie Fisher, Greenway
"I've been numerous times, the raised flowers isn't as good as it used to be. It used to be all garden beds around here.
"I think they needed to maybe change things to make it more easier for them, because it's a lot of work...but it's still nice.
"We'll come again next year"
'I'm really pleased to see a few novelty sort of things'
Bev Morgan, Fisher
"I think it's lovely and I'm really pleased to see a few novelty sort of things back again, I haven't been for a few years, but I was thrilled and I like the wheel barrows.
"The flowers are always lovely, you can't go past a good flower and the colour.
"Of course I'll be back."
Floriade runs from 10am to 7pm daily until the October 15.
