Canberra's emergency and transport services are again supporting Red Nose Day as the Red Nose organisation continues to care for families who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child.

Red Nose spokesperson Lisa Ridgley said nine babies or children died each day in Australia due to health complications at birth, still birth or SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
That's 3200 children each year - double the national road toll.
Red Nose - previously ACT SIDS and Kids - has been helping families in Canberra and the surrounding region for more than 30 years with education, counselling and access to support groups and peers.
Red Nose Day - on Friday, June 30 - is its major fundraiser and funding continues to go to help local families and to fund new research.
"We receive on average two new referrals each week and for every little one that dies, more than 60 people are impacted and may require counselling and support," Ms Ridgley said.
In the lead-up to Red Nose Day, emergency service vehicles, ACTION buses, taxis, garbage trucks and even the Countrylink train between Canberra and Sydney will be sporting a red nose to promote the day.
Canberra firefighter Lloyd O'Keeffe in 2015 told his story about losing his son Lachlan who was stillborn at 37 weeks in September, 2013.
Mr O'Keeffe joined his emergency services comrades at the top of Mount Ainslie on Wednesday morning to promote Red Nose Day, always remembering his dear little Lachlan.
"Time helps you deal with it but you never forget, obviously. And we don't want to forget Lachlan either," he said.
"We always talk about him. My eldest daughter Chloe loves drawing and is always doing drawings of Lachlan. He's up looking down at us."
Mr O'Keeffe and his wife Lara welcomed their second son, William, nine months ago, joining Chloe, now five, and Amelia, nearly three.
Red Nose was there again for the family during what was an understandably anxious pregnancy.
"It was very exciting but we were also very nervous. We knew we were having a boy and there was the added stress of that," Mr O'Keeffe said.
"We were really lucky to have the support of Red Nose. Lara, my wife, was having some sessions with a counsellor while she was pregnant. And we also had the support of the Pregnancy After Loss group, which was organised through Red Nose. That was a really big help for us.
"Having that support group - it's like a club that you never want to join. But the friendship that we have is huge and we've all been able to support each other.
That was echoed by Rivett mum Candy van Poppel whose son Millan was stillborn at 39 weeks, after a healthy pregnancy, in November, 2010.
She and husband Mark went on to have three children since then - Eva, 5; Maddie, 4; and Isla, 22 months, all in relative close succession because of the stress of pregnancy for her after the loss of Millan.
"It was a dream-run pregnancy and then I just stopped feeling movement at 38-and-a-half weeks and then it was confirmed he'd passed away," she said.
"I think a week later I was contacted by Red Nose and one of the counsellors came to my house and since then I've been seeing them really regularly ever since.
"I think what I benefited from most was the support groups and hearing other stories from other parents. I'm still great friends with the people I saw in the early days and every month having a safe place where you could go and talk.
"When you mentioned by child's name to my normal friends, there's an awkwardness. There's no awkwardness in the SIDS office."
ACT Public Transport Operations director Ian McGlinn said like the emergency services, ACTION buses was more than happy to put a red nose on their vehicles and the drivers were fully behind Red Nose Day.
"Our drivers love to be part of our community and participate and they'll be proudly be displaying the red noses around Canberra," Mr McGlinn said.
