The existing Blue Rapid from Tuggeranong to City would also be extended to take in Lanyon Marketplace. .
There will also be money set aside for new bus stops in Nullarbor Avenue and Well Station Drive to link in with the light rail stops.
Transport minister Meegan Fitzharris said funding for new ticket machines and a new ticketing system for bus and light rail would also be included in the budget.
A spokesman for the minister said the integrated ticketing would cost $7.1 million over four years and would be rolled out once light rail is operational.
"The latest public transport ticketing technology is moving away from stored value cards towards new forms of payment, including contactless credit and debit bank cards and mobile phone payments," Ms Fitzharris said in a statement.
"The funding in this budget will enable us to seek out a modern and convenient option for locals and tourists."
The Free City Loop will continue to run and Route 182 - which connects Weston Creek to Woden and Civic - will also have continued funding.
The transport minister this week is travelling with a delegation in North America to learn more about new ticketing systems.
