The blaze took hold of a three bedroom in Minnta Place, Ngunnawal, just off Karragang Circuit.
ACT Emergency Services Agency sent three fire trucks, a hazmat team, a commander and a breathing apparatus to the scene.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, an ESA spokesperson said.
Damage to the back of the house and roof was significant. There was also smoke damage throughout every room inside.
On Sunday morning, AFP Forensic Services were conducting an examination of the scene and investigations by ACT Policing were ongoing.
