A fire which ripped through an apartment in Red Hill on Wednesday night has been deemed suspicious.

ACT firefighters were called to a unit fire on Cygnet Crescent in Red Hill at 9pm , where they found the unoccupied unit well alight.
Several crews, including the Hazardous Materials Unit and Breathing Apparatus Van, responded to the incident and the fire was quickly contained to the one unit.
Firefighters inspecting the building confirmed no one had been inside at the time of the fire.
Shortly before 10pm, emergency services deemed the fire suspicious and the investigation was handed to ACT Policing.
