And in breaking news from the world of turf, some fresh Canturf signs are due to be erected soon.
Canturf marketing manager Damian Robinson was keeping the new pithy, play-on-word, often political slogans under wraps but said they would be up "soon".
"That is a closely guarded secret," he said. "We try to change the signs every year or so."
The idea for the signs came from Mr Robinson's brother-in-law, Nat Davy, in the mid-1990s. Mr Davy tragically died in 2002 as a result of injuries he received in a light-plane crash.
Mr Robinson took over management of the signs in the early 2000s.
They have since become part of the Canberra landscape.
"Canberrans have really taken to it," Mr Robinson said. "I've even noticed a few years back the sign, 'Looks good mown, eh Lisa?' was posted on a German travel website trying to explain Australian slang to prospective travellers.
"Aussies love a laugh and it's a fun way of branding our product without shoving it down people's throat. We like to be a bit cheeky and uncouth at times too, which I think people appreciate in this politically correct world."
And Canturf does accept suggestions for its signs.
"We offer the public a chance to send in ideas and we pay $250 for any that are used," Mr Robinson said.
"Over the years, I've become careful to adjudicate this carefully as often there are similar ideas sent in and we can't pay everyone.
"We hold the right to change or edit any ideas as we see fit but will always pay the original 'spark' of an idea even if the final outcome is edited."
