Police said a 26-year-old Kaleen man posted ads online for work at a cafe, before providing "inappropriate responses to applicants". He was charged on Friday and released by police on bail.
The man allegedly posted an advertisement online for a kitchen helper at a "small, family run" cafe in the Belconnen region.
The ad said it would be great for students, and would be a "good friendly work environment as are patient". Pay, the ad stated, was negotiable.
When a young girl emailed the cafe with her application, a man allegedly replied offering her two options.
"There are two employ options I decided to offer one is the regular $15 an hour the other is $45 an hour," the email allegedly reads.
"The $45 an hour does require some extra things such as touching/groping in a playful manner."
It went on to say the groping would be done in private, and not all the time.
"I want someone who will make the day interesting we could also negotiate this as I'm after someone who won't be boring during the work day but also work well."
"Which were you interested in?" The reply asked.
The girl's mother called police.
Officers searched the man's home on Friday and seized a mobile phone and documents.
"The 26-year-old man was subsequently arrested at the residence and he was charged with one count of using a carriage service to menace or harass," police said in a statement.
"Police believe there may be other victims and are urging anyone who may have interacted with this man when applying for a café job to come forward."
Police gave the man bail, and he is expected to appear in court at a later date.
