Up until this week, Hugh Grosvenor was just your average 25-year-old living his best life in blissful semi-obscurity, writing blogs titled: "How to produce an espresso from your rucksack" and (probably) exchanging frequent Snapchats with his family friend Prince William and godson, Prince George.

With the sudden death of his father Gerald, Duke of Westminster, Hugh has now inherited his father's title and estate, which includes 100 acres across Mayfair and 200 acres of Belgravia – two of the most expensive areas in the world – as well as plots in Oxford, Cheshire, Scotland and Spain.

Thanks to archaic laws he is now in sole possession of his father's $14 billion fortune, making him the third richest man in Britain. Forbes rates him as 68th wealthiest person in the world. His three sisters, Lady Tamara, Lady Edwina and Lady Viola, who maintains a semi-active, yet private Twitter presence, will have their lifestyles maintained via trust funds.

Not a lot is known of the man – a man who resembles a British Wyatt Roy. He is rarely photographed, seen out or active on social media, but here's what the internet knows about the guy is now one of the world's most eligible bachelors.

While most of us made do with a case of Passion Pop and a few fire buckets in the backyard, Hugh, Earl Grosvenor hosted 800 of his nearest and dearest to a party on his 11,000 acre ancestral estate, Eaton Hall. Comedian Michael McIntyre, the guy whose "People with no kids don't know" sketch went viral, was reportedly paid more than $67,000 to crack jokes while hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks performed. "Black and neon" was the dress code for the affair, which supposedly cost $8 million. Security was turned up to G20 level. Cars carrying invited guests were sealed shut with tape to prevent gatecrashers. His friends, including Prince Harry, were asked to bring a bottle of wine, not to drink, but as a gift to contribute to his collection.

"The party was simply amazing – a birthday and a party I will never forget. It is the beginning of a new era in my life and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead," he told The Chester Chronicle at the time.

His late father was reportedly "miserable" at boarding school, so the young earl was educated at co-ed Ellesmere from 2000 to 2009 in order to be close to his family. He was an "exceptional student" and "well-respected prefect" according to a spokesman. The school, which is three hours north of London and charges fees of about $10,000 per term, is renowned for its sporting prowess. Its swim team is one of the best in country and the tennis courts are a hot bed of future Wimbledon stars. The mixed doubles teams frequently represent Great Britain on the international stage.

Upon first glance at his online resume, the earl could be the perfect candidate for the next season of Farmer Wants a Wife. After studying "countryside management" at Newcastle University he went onto serve time at Oxford before making like a Murdoch and joining the family business in 2014.

He started working at the Grosvenor Group – a property business – in 2014 and worked in every office around the world, including the San Francisco and Hong Kong bureaus. He returned to London earlier this year to head up a coffee recycling firm, bio-bean, which collects waste coffee grounds and turns them into biofuels.
