Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, will head straight from the airport to the Australian War Memorial on Wednesday morning as the capital's monuments and monarchists brace for another royal visit.

Staff at the memorial have spent several weeks preparing for the annual Remembrance Day service and expect about 4000 people to flock to the memorial to commemorate the the 97th anniversary of the 1918 armistice that ended World War I – as well as a chance to spot the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.
Cooking with truffles, planting trees at the National Arboretum and touring the National Museum are among other activities listed in the royal couple's packed day-long schedule.
Their Canberra stop-over is part of a 12-day tour of Australia and New Zealand from November 4 to 15.
Among some of the more excited Canberrans are members of the Australian Monarchist League.
ACT spokesman Garth Leggatt will be among members handing out flags at the Remembrance Day service.
"We're all very excited," he said. "We have every reason to believe it will be a success."
Mr Leggatt said royal spotting was an inter-generational experience for many Canberrans, including himself.
"We're seeing people who went with their grandparents or parents who are now taking their children and grandchildren," he said.
"You just don't see that with politicians."
Mr Leggatt said the only complaint among royal watchers was the lack of information surrounding the working day visit.
"The news and information about where and when generally isn't forthcoming and is last minute – and there are genuine security concerns for why that's the case," he said.
"Many members simply want to [see the royal couple] but can't take time off work. It's a little bit extra effort to get out and spot the royals."
He expected Charles and Camilla to be warmly received on Wednesday. It is the Prince of Wales' 15th trip to Australia and the Duchess of Cornwall's second.
"I think the prince is genuinely someone who loves Australians and Australia," he said. "I think he has a very Australian sense of humour.
"A lot of people forget he spent some of his education here as a boy [at Geelong Grammar School's Timbertop Campus in 1966].
"Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has been doing a very good job in supporting him and was very warmly received last visit."
An Australian War Memorial spokesman said large numbers were expected at the Remembrance Day service.
He advised visitors to arrive about 10am, while guests with pre-arranged seating should be seated by 10.15am.
"Standing room for the public is available and you are welcome to bring chairs or rugs to view the ceremony," he said.
A number of road closures will be in effect near the memorial from 8am until 1pm, with limited parking available on site.
Traffic from Limestone Avenue and Fairbairn Avenue will be diverted onto Treloar Crescent, while Anzac Parade will be closed between the memorial and the Blamey Crescent and Currong Street intersection.
A free shuttle bus will transport visitors between Majura Park and Fairbairn Avenue from 8.30am to 1.30pm.
