The much-anticipated annual Canberra Times Fun Run is fast approaching, and the ACT government is reminding people to park only in authorised areas, exercise caution when crossing roads, and take advantage of shuttle buses.

"There is adequate parking at each of the start areas," parking co-ordinator general Gary Rake said.
"We would definitely ask people not to park at Canberra Hospital because that would interrupt parking for patients and visitors."
For Sunday's 10km and 14km event, the start line is in Phillip and there are car parks available at Matilda Street as well as Launceston Street at Canberra College, Mr Rake said.
Drivers will not be permitted to park on empty spaces such as verges, footpaths and median strips on Parkes Way or any other road.
"At the finish line, most of the parking falls within the National Capital Authority's area and they've asked us to remind people that they shouldn't park in an open space, which is any area that is not a formal car park."
A spokesperson from the National Capital Authority confirmed there will be enforcement on the day for unpaid, expired and unauthorised parking.
"At the finish line, the most convenient parking will be at Anzac Park East on Constitution Avenue and also the car park near the CIT on Constitution Avenue," Mr Rake said.
He encourages people to drive carefully and slowly through surrounding areas, and use underpasses where possible when crossing roads.
"This is a great community event – it's a very large community event – if everyone takes a little bit of extra care everyone will be able to stay safe and enjoy the day."
There will be shuttle buses taking people from the finish line back to their start line.
