When Andrew Cressie wandered down to the edge of Lake Burley Griffin with his camera, he could not go past without taking a shot of the fisherman, the dog and and the enormous catch.

Forty good-sized fish surrounded the man who sat casually with his canine, but they were not delicately placed in an esky. These were carp.
"This photo summarises my first ever autumn in Canberra and was taken just outside my apartment in Griffith near the Kingston foreshore," Cressie said.
"This was my first encounter with one of Canberra's devoted fisherman performing an autumn 'Carp Out'.
"Carp are considered a pest fish to the lake and the more that can be caught and removed the better – there's no bag limit or size restrictions due to the sheer quantity that dominate the lake."
Cressie, who came from Perth, said he was amazed at how different and vibrant the colours were here "and how the light itself seemed softer and more welcoming".
