Large crowds at the last event in July left many struggling to find a car park in NewActon, and made it difficult for visitors to get around and see the stalls.
Hustle & Scout organiser Tegan McAuley said while she loved the old area, the last event proved they'd outgrown the space, and had no choice but to move.
"I was looking for a venue that hadn't really been used before and I knew that could potentially be a bit of a challenge in Canberra," she said.
"The airport had got in touch with us, and we had a chat about some possible spaces in their area and they happened to have this hangar free so they've opened us up just for this event."
Ms McAuley said she's excited ahead of the event, but slightly apprehensive given the new venue.
"I have a lot of faith that Canberra will follow us out here because they've supported us for the past few events at NewActon," she said.
"I think people will be really happy with the bigger space, and also it'll be in a really cool, unique venue that has never been used for an event before."
The event combines both Hustle & Scout fashion markets with The Forage street food event, and the extra space means more stallholders can fit in, with 53 fashion stalls and 27 foodstalls.
"There wasn't really the space to accept everyone who wanted to be involved previously so now it's really nice to open up that opportunity to other Australian designers," she said.
"And also just to put on an event where people can actually spend more time looking at the products and not feeling squished and can actually have a relaxed, chilled time."
As well as the markets, the event will feature a pop-up bar, space to sit down and relax or watch the grand final, roving models from April's Caravan, live music, a free photo booth, and there's also a chance of an aeroplane on site.
Due to the success of the markets, Ms McAuley will next year take Hustle & Scout to Hobart for the first market outside Canberra.
"Tassie is quite renowned for its markets and they've got a real creative culture just like we do here in Canberra. But I guess they don't have the opportunity to have exposure to some of the mainland designer labels like we do," she said.
The Hobart markets will be held on June 27-28 next year, and Ms McAuley said time will tell whether it expands further around the country.
"At the moment the Hobart market is sort of a pilot pop-up, so I just want to see how it goes, but it's definitely something that might be on the cards down the track," she said.
Hustle & Scout and The Forage are on Saturday September 27 from 2-7pm at Hangar #47, Fairbairn. Free entry.
