Giants defender Adam Kennedy says they're wary of Canberra products Jack Steele and Josh Bruce, who will line up against them for St Kilda at Manuka Oval on Saturday.
Both Steele and Bruce played for the Giants before making the switch to the Saints.
Now they return to their old stomping ground looking to upset the Giants' plans to return Manuka to an orange fortress.
Kennedy has played with them both and knows exactly what to expect come Saturday.
Steele's made a name for himself as a tagger since moving to St Kilda and Kennedy was expecting him to bring all the tricks of that trade.
"We have seen games where he hasn't played that role and he's got plenty of the ball himself," he said.
"As you know, the taggers in the game can try and get under the skin of the oppo, that's just the nature of the game."
OTHER GIANTS NEWS
And Bruce? If he passes a fitness test on his leg then another contender for mark of the year could be on the cards.
Kennedy has played most of his career as a defender, but played on the wing in the Giants' emphatic 41-point victory over the Sydney Swans last weekend.
He was unsure whether he would stay on the wing or return to defence for the Saints game, but either way stopping Bruce was unlikely to be his job.
That could fall to a number of Giants players, including Bruce's fellow Canberran Phil Davis - if he recovers from an ankle injury.
"He's making a bit of a name for himself in that regard. You watch the highlights reel on the weekend and he's jumping on someone's head," Kennedy said.
"Both of those boys are playing really good footy.
"I don't know if big Phil Davis will get up or not, but if he does it will be him, maybe Sam Taylor, Aidan Corr that will get the job."
Kennedy was expecting a tough contest from a St Kilda side that has surprised many with the way they've started the season.
They're sixth on the ladder with four wins - behind the fourth-placed Giants on solely by percentage.
The Giants are also looking to atone for a shock loss to Fremantle in their last visit to Canberra and return Manuka to the GWS fortress it's become.
Prior to the Dockers game, they'd won nine in a row in the ACT.
They come in buoyed by the re-signing of young gun Josh Kelly for at least two years.
"It's obviously a big game for both clubs and we pride ourselves on playing well in Canberra where we let ourselves down a couple of weeks ago," Kennedy said.
"The boys are looking forward to getting back there and trying to bounce back.
"We were disappointed and Freo were really good, not to take anything away from them, but whether it's in Sydney or Canberra that's both our home grounds and we want to be really hard to beat."
