Police said the first incident happened in Charterisville Avenue in Conder about 10.30pm.
"An 18-year-old driver doing burnouts and drag racing lost control of his white Holden Ute on a bend, mounted the gutter, hit a letterbox and [crashed into] a tree," they said in a statement.
The driver was breath-tested and found to have a blood alcohol reading of 0.119.
"In a separate incident around midnight, police were called to Gallagher Street in Kambah where a 21-year-old driving a white Mitsubishi Lancer had turned a corner too fast, hit a light pole and continued along the street for 50 metres before [crashing into] a tree," police said.
The driver recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.148.
Both drivers were issued immediate suspension notices.
