The all-nighters will only just have been turfed out of the clubs and be stepping out into the detritus of New Year's Eve, when the cleaning crews will take over.

With leaf blowers, face masks and of course gloves, a crack cleaning crew will take on the enormous task of turning the city centre into something presentable before the vast majority of Canberrans wake up to 2014.
They'll clean up plastic bottles, broken glass, takeaway food scraps and no small amount of vomit, robbing seagulls of their breakfast but saving any unfortunate first steps of 2014.
Territory and Municipal Services city operations manager Steve Amos said the teams, along with street sweeper and garbage trucks, would start at work at 5am.
“New Year's Day is the biggest day of the year for our staff, who every year find themselves cleaning large volumes of litter, bottles, broken glass, vomit and other sights that most people wouldn't want to go near, let alone physically remove," Mr Amos said.
There are 40 rubbish bins and the same number of recycling bins in the city, and another 20 bins will be placed there to cope with the extra numbers.
While that will collect about 2000kg or rubbish, Mr Amos said the was no doubt much rubbish would hit the roads and pavements. In fact, he expected cleaning crews to collect about 500kg of waste.
Disposal of another kind of waste - urine - has been thought of too.
Canberra CBD Limited has installed five portable urinals in the city, on Bunda Street, Petrie Plaza, the taxi rank and the bus interchange near King O'Malleys.
Canberra CBD Limited chief executive Jane Easthope said the urinals will be open fro 7pm till 7am from Tuesday night until January 5.
“The urinals will help keep the centre of town clean this holiday season, and will assist the police by letting them focus on duties other than discouraging public urination,” Ms Easthope said.
Road closures will take place on London Circuit between Petrie Plaza and Akuna Street from 5pm until about 2am.
During the fireworks display, other road closures will be implemented southbound on Northbourne Avenue between 8.50pm to 9.30pm and also 11.50pm to 12.30am. Traffic will be diverted left along Cooyong Street, into Ballumbir Street, Coranderrk Street, Parkes Way with access to Commonwealth Avenue. The laneway behind the Canberra Theatre will also be closed.
The public car park at the corner of London Circuit and Constitution Avenue will be closed from midday today (December, 31).
