Police say she struggled with an unidentified man, before they both fell to the ground.
The man allegedly straddled the woman while she continued to struggle.
The victim punched and kicked the man, before she broke free and ran.
Police say the man - a Caucasian man aged in his late teens or early 20s - ran from the scene, heading towards Proctor Street.
He is described as about 170cm to 175cm tall, and is thought to be short with a slim build.
He had dark curly hair, and was wearing long pants, possibly tracksuit pants, and a dark-coloured plain jumper.
Police want to speak with any witnesses, or anyone in the area of Fadden Pines or Isabella Drive in Chisholm between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday.
